At Smarter.Codes we promote colleagues to perform interdisciplinary roles to grow them as Intrapreneur. While there would be dedicated colleagues doing each role too, but the Intrapreneur would contribute in every department mentioned here. The goal of this practice is to

  1. Grow colleagues into a CXO. So that they are able provide leadership to one of the startups in our Category:Startup Studio
  2. Reduce the knowledge gap when dealing with customers and designers/engineers

Intrapreneurs are Business Owners

In literature this journey (to become Intrapreneur) is suggested in the ESBI framework

As shown in roadmap diagram

  1. You start with a "Hands on" role like Design or Engineering.
  2. Next you perform some High Level role like Marketing or Sales Level 1. You can do QA too. You are able to bring repeat Services business yourself.
  3. Next you Hire and Manage people by creating Systems for People. You are able to be better Sales and Marketing at Level 2.
  4. By this time you are an Intrapreneur. You are doing Product Management of a Product, and also playing as a CXO to a Category:Startup Studio
Roadmap to become an Intrapreneur

Time Split

Notice the Core Skills mentioned inside CXO is "High Availability" - where you're putting 50hrs per week. Hence in the entire journey of Intrapreneurship too we expect you to put 50hr per week. Your body and mind is capable to put 50hrs per week consistently only if you are Biohacking

Based on how mature you are in your career, you would be expected to put 50hrs per week in either of the 4 roles. You you are either..

1. Wannabe Intrapreneur

  • 25hrs Hands On role. Either Design or Engineering or QA. Shipping 1 sprint successfully per week.
  • 25hrs High Level role.
    • Either Sales : 10-15 Make Contacts done per week in Sales.
    • Or Marketing : 1 Marketing Content launched per week

2. Soon to be Intrapreneur

  • 30hrs Sales : Doing > $10,000/month of sales per month all the 7 sales stages.
  • or 30hrs Marketing Level 2. Giving input to Marketing Level 1 with inputs per week
  • 20hrs Project Management. Shipping 3 sprints per week.

3. Intrapreneur in the Making

  • 20hrs playing Human Resource building a team of at least 10 playing their Lifecycle of Colleagues in a matter of 4 months.
  • 10hrs Sales. Doing $10,000/month of sales in Products
  • OR 10hrs in Marketing Level 2. TOFU of $100,000 per month through Marketing
  • 20hrs Product Manager. Outcome yet to be decided.

4. Intrapreneur

20hrs CXO. Outcome yet to be decided.

30hrs Leading by Example to Sales, Marketing, Project Manager, HR, Product Managers on how their role is done
